Decisions made before the main meeting:
1. The State Historian, Janice Smith, will take responsibility for the Howard Bell award for this coming year; the board may make this permanent in the future.
2. The next state executive board meeting will be held the weekend of September 16-17 at a location in southern California, to be selected by Julie Faulkner.
3. No changes to the Joie Armstrong scholarship for now.
4. Stephen "Hoppy" Hopkins will be the AEOE representative to Golden State Environmental Education Consortium, attending their May meeting if possible, and will work with Michael Charnofsky who has established contact with GSEEC.
5. The State Historian is allocated a budget of $200 ($100 from each section) for this year, with an increase possible in September.
6. The State Coordinating Secretary is allocated the same budget as last year, for this year, using a surplus from last year to cover some increased costs. An increase is possible in September as the State Coordinating Secretary duties are expanded.
7. Debbie Carraway was appointed by the new state executive board as State Coordinating Secretary. Janice Smith was re-appointed as State Historian.
8. From amongst the members of the new state executive board, Dan Allison was selected as State Chair, Julie Faulkner as State Vice Chair, and Robin Frank as State Recording Secretary.
9. The membership of Michael Kujat was permanently revoked for harassment directed at another AEOE member and conference attendee during the conference, by unanimous vote of the state executive board.

*NAAEE has five outreach teams 1) fundraising 2) organizational assessment 3) tools for non-formal educators 4) guidelines for excellence 5) cultural competency. These outreach teams can be used as part of a barter network for exchange of professional development skills and expertise.

Darrel Ramos(GSEEC) formed 4 years ago, 20 members
Goal-help create a dialog among EE people and bring EE into preservice teacher training. Working on a statewide plan to move CA towards progressive EE direction.
*Not membership org. because wanted to dedicate toward tasks rather than activities, the focus is on four initiatives 1) Ed. reform-integrate EE into CA standards and framework 2) Following legislative issues-EE methodology into pre-service teacher training, creating a bill to propose an office staff for Dept. of Ed and making CREEC into full-time positions. 3) building capacity for EE-statewide representation 4) Building bridges with organizations
