Calling All Presenters!

Do you have special skills or knowledge that would inspire others? Have you been teaching for awhile and would like to share some trade secrets? Then be a presenter at AEOE’s Northern Fall Conference Campout in Yosemite, “Inspiring Growth” October 13-15, 2006

I don't know how many times I've looked at the theme for this year's northern fall AEOE campout.  It's not really sunk in until this morning sitting under the canopy of oaks, redbuds, and acorn woodpeckers.  The question that nags the back of my mind is, "In whom are we to inspire growth"?  Is it in students, ourselves, our community, our loved ones, our cities, our schools, AEOE?

This year's theme is one that should inspire conversation within our community of educators.  So, it's time!  Are you ready?  Are you able?  I believe that one of the best services we can give to our students, ourselves, and those around us, is information, activity, and energy that sparks conversation at the least, and ideally, action and courage to do the right thing.

We would like you to consider presenting at AEOE this fall.  If you cannot present then pass this on to someone who can.  Here's some information:

There's no electricity;we're very off the grid.  All workshops are presented out-of-doors;we keep a low footprint. We provide a appetizer mixer on Friday night, simple breakfast breads and spreads, and hot water for Saturday morning, dinner on Saturday night, and a light morning snack for Sunday. The (main) presenter's conference registration fee is waived. If you would like to join the AEOE board or help prepare for the statewide spring conference, please consider staying for a light lunch and meeting around noon.  We could use your help!

When applying and planning, please keep in mind that many county offices of education and people are coming from long distances at big gas prices and low budgets so being well prepared will help you have fun giving the workshop and those attending will walk away highly motivated, thankful for your insight, and more knowledgeable.  Make every minute and dollar count.  What you teach them will last them the entire year, if not a lifetime.

As you work through this process, please feel free to contact me, or anyone on the northern council.  We'll help in any way that we can.  I will be getting back to each presenter.

My best to you!
