AEOE 2006 Statewide Spring Conference:Environmental
Education:
|
AEOE Institutional Members are cordially invited to participate in the job fair at the AEOE Spring Conference, April 28-30, 2006, at Camp Hess Kramer in Malibu. AEOE Conferences are the BEST place to meet potential new teaching staff - from enthusiastic interns to experienced teachers who are dedicated to learning and growing as educators, and to environmental and outdoor education.
As you have probably heard, the conference theme will be Environmental Education: From Words to Action. There will be 80+ workshops and some really fabulous entertainment. The conference will officially kick-off on Saturday morning with an Opening Ceremony by Jacque Nunez, who will perform an opening prayer and storytelling in the Acjachemen tradition. We are also very honored to be hosting Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder, as Keynote Speaker.
The job fair will take place Saturday evening in Gildred Hall from 6:15-7:15 PM. Participating programs will have the opportunity to set up displays as early as Friday evening. The AEOE history display and photo contest will also be housed in Gildred Hall. In addition, a book signing by Richard Louv will take place in conjunction with the job fair. We will make every effort to advertise the job fair as a major conference event to encourage participation. Workshops will be held in Gildred Hall throughout the weekend, giving conference participants additional opportunities to peruse program displays.
Each job fair presenter will have one-half of an eight-foot table on which to set up a program display. Access to an electrical outlet can be arranged if necessary. Please see the on-line registration form for exact times available for set-up.
As an added bonus for participating in the job fair, your program’s description from the California EE Providers pages along with any jobs you are currently advertising will be posted on the job fair page of the AEOE website.
Please fill out the on-line registration form, located below, by Wednesday, April 24th, so that we can accommodate your needs. Keep in mind that you must have current status as an Institutional Member in order to participate in the job fair.
