Events:

Keynote Speaker: Ed Begley Jr.

Beginning in 1970 with his first electric vehicle, a Taylor-Dunn golf cart style vehicle, recycling, and becoming a vegan, well known actor, educator, and sustainable living activist, Ed Begley, Jr. serves on the board of numerous environmental education organizations and truly practices what he preaches.

Delta Nove, an “Afro Samba World Funk Experience”

“No Impact Man” Screening – A guilty liberal finally snaps, swears off plastic, goes organic, becomes a bicycle nut, turns off his power and generally becomes a tree-hugging lunatic who tries to save the polar bears and the rest of the planet from environmental catastrophe while dragging his baby daughter and Prada-wearing, Four Seasons-loving wife along for the ride. And that’s just the beginning. Bill McKibben meets Bill Bryson in this seriously engaging look at one man’s decision to put his money where his mouth is and go off the grid for one year – while still living in New York City – to see if it’s possible to make no net impact on the environment. In other words, no trash, no toxins in the water, no elevators, no subway, no products in packaging, no air-conditioning, no television….

Job Fair:

The Job Fair will be taking place on Saturday night from 6:00 to 7:30 in the centrally-located Gildred Hall.  There will be directional signage and announcements made at meals advertising the Fair and its location.  Attendance this year is expected to be approximately 400 people.  This includes naturalists and educators from both Northern and Southern California.  So if you are thinking about finding a few good people for your next season or school year this would be an excellent place to make that happen!

Bring a display board to help prospective applicants get an idea of what your work site is like and the programs that run there.  Job description handouts that include contact information are also recommended.  You will need to have someone representing your work site at the Job Fair from 6:00 to 7:30 the night of the event.  Set-up of displays will occur between 12:30 and 1:30pm on Saturday, and then Gildred Hall will be open to attendees for the remainder of the conference.

Please contact Bryan “Rain” Snyder at foolsby@hotmail.com to reserve a table for the event.
