The utilization of over 50 species of animals provides numerous examples for demonstrating a wide variety of biological concepts. The Animal Guys, Inc. also provides animals for "edu-tainment," film industry, and private events on the weekends.
Job Description: Part-time wildlife educator/keeper wanted to give presentations primarily to children utilizing exotic/wild animals (rescued and captive bred) as teaching aids, and to provide animal care. This is an exciting opportunity to work with exotic animals and children.
At this time we are looking for someone to work part-time giving wildlife presentations in a Los Angeles Unified School District daily after-school program, school assemblies, classroom presentations, and birthday parties. Standard husbandry of our wild animal collection is required as well. Training and lesson plans are provided. We are looking for someone who can work 3-5 days/week, including weekends (weekly hours vary). As this position needs to be filled immediately, we are looking for candidates that presently reside in the Southern California area.

Qualifications: We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and clean-cut looking applicants. Employee is to be neatly groomed without excessive jewelry or visible tattoos or body piercings. We have 4 company vans to use for transporting our animals to the events, but rarely the employee is required to transport animals with his/her own vehicle, so the employee must have reliable transportation with air-conditioning. Fuel reimbursement is given. A valid California driver's license, clean driving record and insurance are required. Applicants must be at least 21, have a Bachelor's degree in Biology or an animal-related science, and exotic animal experience at a zoo or similar wildlife facility. Experience working with children is preferred. Excellent public speaking skills are essential. Moderate to heavy lifting may be required for certain projects and for caring for the animals.
Salary: $10.50/Hour
