Description:
The primary functions of this position are to assist with guided natural history and environmental education programs, meal time supervision, free time activities, and cabin supervision for children attending Point Reyes Science and Nature Summer Camp. This is a residential, weekday environmental education camp for children ages 7-16.

Background Information: The Clem Miller Environmental Education Center, home of Point Reyes Summer Camp, is close to one of the finest beaches in Point Reyes National Seashore. This overnight summer camp for boys and girls ages 7-16 explores the rich coastal environments and diverse habitats of one of the country's most beautiful National Parks.

Qualifications:

  1. Enjoy working with children and have an interest in working with them in the outdoors.
  2. Ability to carry 50 pound backpack up to 8 miles per day over rugged terrain.
  3. General knowledge of first aid techniques and CPR with current certification.
  4. Enjoyment of the out-of-doors, creativity, enthusiasm, flexibility, self-motivation,and a sense of humor.
  5. Knowledge of ecological concepts.

Salary: $225 - $265/week
Housing: fulltime; weekend housing included
