Program Description: Lake County International Charter School (LCICS), also known as Living Learning Charter School, is a new Eco friendy charter school in Middletown (Lake County-1/2 hr. North of Calistoga). LCICS emphasizes academic excellence and artistic expression; respect and appreciation of diversity; personal, social, and environmental responsibility; and an understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things and our global environment. Students of diverse backgrounds and abilities advance academically, artistically, socially and personally through the highly successful and proven teaching methods of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. The transdisciplinary (across disciplines) program of inquiry is a multi-cultural curriculum, which engages critical thinking, research, exploration, creative expression, and technology, and the acquisition of a second language. Thematic and project-based units of inquiry, differentiated materials, hands-on activities, and community action projects engage multiple intelligences and the whole child while providing meaningful context for all aspects of the curriculum. Thus, various kinds of learners, learning styles, abilities, and readiness are addressed in a child-centered and active learning environment inspired and created through the cooperation and collaboration of parents, teachers, staff, students, and community.

Teaching assignments are suitable for the self-motivated teacher who can work both independently and collaboratively with fellow teachers in planning, curriculum design, and assessment. Job Description: New Eco friendy charter school in Middletown (Lake County-1/2 hr. North of Calistoga) seeks mature classroom teacher with EE background for small 5th-6th grade combination class. Unique challenge with tremendous potential.

Full-time, school year position.

Qualifications: CA Multiple Subject credential, or Single Subject willing to engage in additional coursework to become Muntiple Subject Credentialed teacher. Emergency Credential also possible.
