Description: Looking for an exciting job? Pali Institute wants you. We are located in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake. You will be teaching science, outdoor education and leadership programs to children in grades 4-12. Would you like to be trained on ropes? Pali Mountain is home to two large ropes courses. Zip line, Crow and Leap of Faith are a few elements that are popular for high school leadership programs. 6th graders meet CA science standards as they build towers that will be tested on our earthquake machine. Discuss engineering and geology and then use an earthquake machine to test the student's final buildings. Take a five-mile hike to Deep Creek as you talk about forest ecology and build shelters. Look for macro invertebrates and then micro invertebrates as you teach our freshwater biology program. When the sun goes down, warm up by the campfire as you perform Pali famous skits or turn up the music as the students perform karaoke. Do you like to look at the night sky? You will have the opportunity to gaze into the night as you look for constellations and stars through our large telescope. By the end of the week, you will look back at the rewards of working with children and teaching in the outdoors.
Outdoor Education Instructors also have general cabin responsibilities.
