
Program Description: Whiskeytown Environmental School is a residential outdoor science school operated in partnership by the Shasta County Office of Education and the National Park Service. It is located 8 miles west of Redding, CA in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area at the juncture of the Klamath Mountain range and the northern edge of the Sacramento Valley.
Job Description: Naturalists teach groups of 5th/6th grade students hands-on outdoor science standards based education while exploring the great outdoors. The weekly program runs from Monday morning to Friday afternoon, with naturalists working 40 hours/week (including two evening programs). Spring semester: January 21st 2008 - June 5th with potential summer camp opportunities. Fall semester: Roughly mid September - mid November.
