Anza Borrego -Salton Sea Birding Bonanza!Archived: January 23-25, 2004AEOE members are invited to a fun-filled bird watching extravaganza! Beginning and experienced birders welcome! |
We will start by camping out at Anza-Borrego State Park Friday night, doing some birding there in the morning, then head to the Salton Sea for more exciting bird spotting. We will camp out Saturday night at the Salton Sea, then more birding is on the agenda for Sunday morning. If you are looking to improve your bird identification skills, or want to see many species of birds in a short amount of time (over 100 species 2 years ago!) this is the trip for you! Just a few of the species spotted on the last AEOE trip are; burrowing owl, snow goose, greater yellowlegs, white pelican, and osprey.
BRING: binoculars, bird guides, camping gear, musical instruments, your enthusiasm!
DIRECTIONS: To Palm Canyon Campground in Anza-Borrego State Park: First, locate a map of southern California, as these directions might not be enough! For directions from the north via I-15, go to www.anzaborrego.statepark.org/dir_la.html
