3rd Annual AEOE Colorado River Canoe Cruise! February 7-9, 2004

Fall in love with the Colorado River on our special canoe cruise weekend! You must be a current AEOE member to participate, but remember a year membership to AEOE is only $15.

What: We will be cruising down Black Canyon, a beautiful 10 mile stretch of the Colorado River starting at the base of Hoover Dam, filled with amazing hot springs to explore, a sauna cave, and the opportunity to see wildlife such as bighorn sheep, owls, coyotes, and many bird species! As many members do not have to work Monday, Feb. 9 (Lincoln's birthday holiday), we have chosen to plan a 2-night trip. You can join us for 1 night (Saturday), or 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday) depending on your availability.

Itinerary:

• Friday Night, Feb. 6: camp at Boulder Beach Campground at Lake Mead.
• Saturday, Feb. 7: Meet at 8:00 to get our canoes/get a ride down to launch area. Spend a full day exploring the river’s side canyons and hot springs. Sat. night we will camp along the river.
• Sunday, Feb. 8: For those of us who work on Monday: Continue along the river and get picked up at Willow Beach by early afternoon.
  For those of us staying another night: another fun-filled day of exploring the hot springs, camp another night along the river.
• Monday, Feb. 9: Continue down river and get picked up at Willow Beach by early afternoon.

Bring: Camping gear, food, plenty of water, enthusiasm, and spirit of adventure!

Cost: Approximately $52 includes camping Friday, canoe rentals, shuttle to and from river.
