    2020 Environmental Educator Certification Program

    Environmental Educator Certification Program (EECP)

The Environmental Educator Certification Program (EECP) draws together stewards and educators of the environment into a structured and effective initiative. Certification is a public declaration that a certain individual meets a stringent level of requirements and has a specific set of skills. We believe this program will be of great benefit to practitioners and organizations alike, extending to individuals, the public, and the profession itself. Having the EECP enhances the legitimacy of the field by building a uniform foundation in effectively teaching about the environment in California.

Through participating in the certification program, you will increase your knowledge and skills, expand your professional network, enhance your resume, and make important connections across the state.

Participants may only enroll in EECP if they have been accepted into the program and have paid the $25 application fee. If this applies to you, check you inbox, as you will need the code in order to enroll.

Join this workshop to explore what developmentally appropriate outdoor environmental education looks like for this age group and learn some simple activities you can start using right away!

Remote learning has become the new norm and we want to help you engage students with simple ways to take actions that address the environmental challenges facing our planet. In this session you will participate and learn how to facilitate five engaging remote learning activities that stimulate critical thinking around sustainable solutions. Before the session, you’ll receive write-ups with the list of supplies, instructions, and other resources you’ll need to lead these hands-on activities around sustainability topics like gardening, composting, waste, water, and energy conservation. Together we will facilitate each activity and share ideas on how you can use them to inspire green behavior change in the youth and adults you work with.

    Workshop time: 9-11 a.m.

Please join us for a few hours of community building as we bring our Fall Webinar Series to a close. We'll start off by bringing together our community for an Open Space Discussion. What thoughts, concerns, ideas do you have and want to share with the EE community?

Then we'll present an open-mic style program combined with interactive games and activities. Have a song to share, a poem, a skit? Register as a performer here. Want to catch all the action as an audience member? We've got that option too. Participation is complementary to anyone who would like to join in!

We'll finish the evening by celebrating our Environmental Educators of the Year.

Registration is required. Event is FREE.
