Lasting Adventures, Inc.
Specializing in Yosemite backpacking trips, day hikes and outdoor youth summer camps, Lasting Adventures has introduced thousands of youth to nature and wilderness experience through adventure-based programming. Working to ensure programs are meaningful, supportive, educational and fun, Yosemite Backpacking Guides facilitate youth backpacking summer camps and adventure-based outdoor education programs. Additional responsibilities include adequately preparing food and gear for each trip, unpacking and de-prepping after trips have returned from the field, and assisting and leading custom guide service programs and day trips as needed. The summer season starts with mandatory staff training during the first week of June. Most Guides will then work 15-20 days per month through August, with potential to assist on Guide Service programs through October. Guides must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, evenings and holidays. Applicants must be 21+ years old (with college degree in recreation, environmental studies or youth development preferred), WFR and CA Food Handlers certified, have a mobile phone with AT&T or Verizon service, a valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle for transportation, and experience in the outdoors, backpacking, backcountry cooking, and working with youth. An internship program (with stipend) for 18-20 year olds interested in gaining valuable experience in the industry is also offered. Please submit a cover letter (including seasonal availability dates), resume and scanned copies of any relevant certifications along with applications.
Pay starts at $100/day (not including tips), highly discounted lodging at the guide house near Yosemite and meals while on trips.
