    The Educational Services Division is now accepting applications for Environmental Education Specialist.

    The Environmental Education Specialist provides responsible instructional assistance to assigned teachers/students in implementing the educational and social objectives of assigned program(s). Employees in this classification receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This classification requires a high degree of independent and positive contact with both students and teaching staff.

    There are currently two vacancies for this position. Work calendars are as follows:
    10 months / 185 days / 8 hours per day
    10 months / 164 days / 8 hours per day.

    Education and Experience

    Any combination equivalent to: Education and experience equivalent to four years in the natural sciences, environmental sciences, or a related field.

    LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • A valid first aid certificate and a cardiopulmonary (CPR) certificate
    • A valid California Driver's License.
    • A driving record that meets the insurance requirements of the County Office of Education

    EXAMINATION PROCEDURES:

    Assessments and interviews will take place virtually via Zoom Meetings. Our procedures reflect social distancing guidelines of the Santa Clara County Office of Public Health. Please email the Recruitment Contact listed on job postings if you have any questions.

    Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated. The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for December 9, 2021. Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in a panel interview with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for December 16, 2021.  Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list. Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for the week of December 20, 2021. Candidates will be invited over email to participate in examination and selection steps, using the email supplied within their Governmentjobs.com applications, or as updated by candidates in their Governmentjobs.com  master profiles. Therefore, it is recommended that candidates check their email at least daily.
