    Outdoor Education Program Aide

    Are you passionate about outdoor education and science? Do you enjoy working with 5th and 6th grade students in a residential camp setting? If so, we have the perfect job for you! Cuyamaca Outdoor School Is looking for Outdoor Education Program Aides to join our dynamic team. As a Program Aide, you will be trained in the world of outdoor education and supervise students in a cabin setting, take students on hikes through the beautiful wilderness of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, and support students in fun recreation programs. You will facilitate team building activities, and help students develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners and inspire a love of science and nature that will last a lifetime.

    Qualifications:

    ·         Knowledge of natural and environmental sciences

    ·         Works effectively with students and adults in small and large group settings

    ·         Experience working with children in a residential or recreation program with school-age children

    ·         Has a passion for teaching in and about the natural world

    ·         Demonstrates a positive attitude, adaptable personality, strong work ethic, and likes to have fun

    ·         Able to assist with cabin supervision and leading hikes on nature trails

    ·         Able to support recreational programs like archery, rock climbing, campfire and talent show


    Position Details:

    August 26, 2024, start date; $21.72 starting hourly rate, plus room and board, and more; This is a six-month position; after successful completion of training program employee is moved to full school year limited-term employment and a raise to $24.57 per hour.
