West County Nature Club is an outdoor, all-weather program immersing youth in nature connection, education, and stewardship.

We serve homeschooling families in Sebastopol and Western Sonoma County.

We are seeking a YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT to join our community.

The Assistant will work directly with the Program Leader

This is a seasonal position

We run 3 sessions per year, with 11 field days per session.

Field days are Tuesdays from 10am-4pm.

Now hiring for session 3 which runs from September 9 - November 19

Our Ideal Candidate:

Has experience working with mixed-age groups of kids in an outdoor or wilderness setting.

Has knowledge of Sonoma County local ecology (plants and animals).

Has a strong personal connection to the natural world Is passionate about working with children.

Has experience with or knowledge of the coyote mentoring style.

Has experience with or knowledge of Bird Language.

Is comfortable leading and participating in group games with the children.

Is comfortable leading and participating in nature journaling activities with the children.

Is comfortable leading nature hikes and exploration with groups of children.

Is CPR/ First aid certified or be willing to acquire certification.

Is reliable and a good communicator.
