Fall Regional Meet-up! Cancelled due to low registration

Join environmental and outdoor education professionals from across Humboldt County and the northern coast of California to explore two local sites, meet colleagues working in a variety of settings, and deepen your practice through shared learning. The event includes lunch, a tour of the sites, networking activities, professional development, and an online gathering of meet-up participants from sites across California for the annual fall awards ceremony celebrating the northern and southern environmental educators of the year.

Experience a full day of exploring environmental education sites on either side of Humboldt Bay. The day begins at the Northcoast Regional Land Trust's Freshwater Farms Reserve for a tour of the restored wetland area and field trip site, and interactive activities. Lunch will be served at 12:30pm at Friends of the Dunes' Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. At the Nature Center we will also stream the state-wide AEOE online gathering, hold discussions for professional development in our field (inlc. conversations about livable wages, quality jobs, ecogrief, and climate change), and go for a Dune walk to explore a restoration site on this side of the bay!

AGENDA:

10am - 12pm: Freshwater Farms Reserve (5851 Myrtle Ave., Eureka)

12:30pm - 4pm: Humboldt Coastal Nature Center (220 Stamps Ln., Arcata)

Lunch is provided. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring a water bottle. Personal laptops for the online gathering are welcome (the projection screen can be dim in such a brightly lit space). Carpooling is encouraged! Please email n.vanlynn@ncrlt.org with questions or comments about this event. We value your input in building our local community of Environmental Educators!

This event is offered in partnership with the Northcoast Regional Land Trust and Friends of the Dunes.
