Job Description: Provide daily logistical support for all field crews; including vehicle and equipment delivery, materials purchasing and crew transportation as needed.
Manage Shop Supervisor; hire, train and provide budgetary oversight.
Provide secondary supervisory coverage for Natural Resource Crew Supervisors (approx. 64 days/year).
Develop/Implement all hand and power tool training procedures for field staff and corpsmembers; direct Sawyer Training program, provide all Chipper Operations training, maintain all training records.
Manage facilities; hire and oversee cleaning contractor, direct grounds maintenance, coordinate all facilities opening/lock-down procedures, and control costs.
Develop/Implement in conjunction with HR Department MCC Safety Plans. Assure compliance with all relevant OSHA labor laws.
Assist with training crew leadership positions; Crew Supervisors, Crew Leaders, Assistant Crew Leaders and Safety Officers.
Oversee crew Safety Officer program in conjunction with HR department.
Provide purchasing/procurement of tools, equipment, project materials, uniforms, grounds and facilities in support of all MCC operations.
Manage MCC vehicle fleet; provide inspection and maintenance training for all drivers, collect daily vehicle inspections, coordinate all maintenance and repairs with fleet maintenance contractor. Maintain all records. Monitor and control all costs.
Develop short and long-term vehicle/equipment replacement plans. Develop annual vehicle/equipment budget.
Act as CA DMV examiner for all new MCC Class B drivers. Conduct all MCC class C driver tests Maintain all records in conjunction with Finance Department.
Provide coverage, as needed, for daily NRCC tasks.
Assist with new corpsmember orientation.
Provide primary short and long-term NRCS coverage, as needed, to include all duties and responsibilities of a NRCS.
Collect, assimilate and evaluate all Natural Resource Crew Project Reports. Provide relevant feedback and suggestions for operations improvement.
Prepare, mail and collect all NR Sponsor Satisfaction Surveys.
Insure MCC Policies and disciplinary procedures are implemented in conjunction with the HR Department.
Reconcile daily corpsmember hours tracking with daily attendance records.
Support ongoing NRC Supervisors (NCRS) and Corpsmembers development and advancement opportunities.
Assist with training crew leadership positions; Crew Supervisors, Crew Leaders, Assistant Crew Leaders and Safety Officers.
Regularly evaluate all Natural Resource Supervisors; oversee advancement.
Participate with hiring & termination procedures for all Corpsmembers and NRCS.

Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Clean driving record and ability to obtain a California Class B Driver's license and pass MCC’s driving exam
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required
knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge
and abilities would be:
Education - Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/studies, community studies, other social science field, from an accredited college or university
Experience –3 to 5 years experience supervising various levels of staff in outdoor environmental field work.
