Program Description: "Developing youth and conserving natural resources for a strong, sustainable community." Marin Conservation Corps (MCC) is a non-profit, community service and education program serving young adults (corpsmembers) ages 18-30 and junior corpsmembers ages 11-17 in the summer. Corpsmembers work on crews doing projects in conservation, environmental restoration, education, recycling and service projects with children in Marin County. From the skills learned doing these projects, corpsmembers increase their vocational skills in a wide variety of fields. The Education Program offers some corpsmembers the opportunity to complete their high school diploma or GED while others continue their life-long learning by taking college classes or special trainings. MCC also offers employment and educational placement assistance as corpsmembers prepare to leave and continued assistance and follow-up for two years beyond our program.

Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities: The Teacher works under the direction of the Education Manager to implement field and classroom education components of MCC's educational program as detailed below:

Charter School: Helps to implement charter school requirements into MCC's education program.

Field Education: Teaches lessons in the field that integrate the education and project components of our program using project based learning methodology.

Classroom Education: Teaches classes that provide a foundation of academic and vocational learning leading to a high school diploma to a student population with many English language learners. Basic educational subjects are taught using Environmental Education as an integrator. Also assists corpsmembers in developing confidence and positive attitudes toward educational and career goals and accomplishments.
