    Sierra Nevada Journeys is seeking a Program Director for our Classrooms Unleashed program in Sacramento, with experience teaching formal and informal education programs. Program management experience is desired. The Program Director must be able to effectively facilitate high-quality school and outdoor-based educational programming while managing systems and people central to the Classrooms Unleashed program.

    The Program Director will be responsible for program preparation, coordination and facilitation of daily classroom and field-based lessons and maintaining a supportive and collaborative work environment. The Program Director will be directly responsible for training, managing, and evaluating educators and interns throughout the year. They will teach in-classroom and field trip lessons. During school closures due to COVID-19, this instruction is done virtually through webinars. They will lead curriculum development and revision, lead outreach to teachers and potential program partners, and collaborate with Education Director to create and manage annual program budget. In addition, the Program Director will develop and maintain systems and operations necessary for a highly successful and dynamic informal outdoor science education program.
