Inside the Outdoors Foundation

Inside the Outdoors Foundation is the nonprofit partner to Inside the Outdoors, the environmental education program administered by Orange County Department of Education. Since 1974, Inside the Outdoors has helped more than 3.5 million Orange County TK-12 students get outdoors. Today, ITO's award-winning field trips, Traveling Scientist classroom programs, and community events immerse more than 100,000 participants each year in hands-on environmental science, all aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and California's Environmental Principles & Concepts.Inside the Outdoors Foundation helps ensure that ITO’s programs remain accessible, engaging, and impactful for all learners. Our volunteer-driven organization raises funds to provide scholarships, underwrites program design, and supports other program-related expenses, such as the care of ITO’s animal ambassadors.
