Food Service Manager

Typical duties: Under the general supervision of the Camp SEA Lab Managing Director, the Food Service Manager will work on a variety of tasks related to the food planning, purchasing, preparation and delivery for Camp SEA Lab outdoor school participants.
*Oversee food service operations in accordance with USDA and Department of Health guidelines.
*Plan well-balanced meals, with minimal food waste, that meet client needs and are within camp budget for up to 130 participants each week.
*Work with commercial food service vendors and place weekly food orders using online ordering program. Follow up and ensure delivery and tracking of goods.
*Prepare and oversee the preparation and cooking of all food, consisting of 6 meals during each 3-day residential program (Day 1 dinner; Day 2 breakfast, lunch, dinner; Day 3 breakfast, lunch). *Provide food service options that support allergies and other special dietary needs and restrictions.
*Apply all ServSafe® food handling protocols, including reducing cross-contamination and bacterial growth of food.
Education and Experience:
*High School Diploma or GED
*Three years of progressively responsible work experience in a food service setting. Supervisory experience highly desirable.
Special Conditions of Employment
*Be properly trained to follow good sanitary practices, maintain appropriate personal hygiene (including effective hand washing), and possess a valid ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification and complete ServSafe Allergens online course (to be completed within 1 week of hire)
*Must be capable of working split schedule (early morning/late afternoon to evening) for meal preparation up to three days per week
Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
*Must have own transportation to and from work location
*A background check (including a criminal records check and National Registered Sex Offender check) must be completed satisfactorily.
$20 per hour for 24-29 hours per week with some overtime
