Outdoor Educator/Raft Guide
Tuesday, January 7, 2020
Description: Part outdoor educator, part raft guide, part ropes course facilitator, part camp staff. Mother Lode is looking to hire people who are interested in a dynamic work environment that is focused around one thing: connecting people with nature.
Through gold rush history and river ecology programs, Mother Lode River Center serves as an outdoor school for 4th-6th graders.
Staying true to its River Center roots, Mother Lode also provides safe, fun, and engaging whitewater river trips for youth and adults. During mid-trip letter writing campaigns, staff provide participants a chance to become more informed and then write a letter to help protect a river.
Mother Lode also has ropes course with a number of high and low ropes elements that are used to facilitate interpersonal growth and connection among participants. Continuing this year will be an on-site zip line.
Season runs April 1st - October 15th.
-Fall asleep to the river lullaby and wake up to birds chirping in the extremely affordable on-site housing.
-Staff are paid per diem for education programs, ropes programs, and river trips and meals. Hourly camp work (grounds improvements, company projects, etc.) is available.
