Lifeguarding and Conference Center Shifts in West Marin (Summer 2025)
Positions available at Marin County Office of Education’s Walker Creek Ranch, a west Marin Outdoor Education and Conference Center located about 30 minutes west of Novato and Petaluma. Shifts beginning in June with more frequent weekday and weekend shifts available from July through the end of August 2025.
The 2,000 acre Walker Creek Ranch campus is nestled in the hills along the pacific coast. We are a one hour drive north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The ranch hosts a hand full of groups over the summer that operate their own summer camp programing. Our seasonal summer positions work for the Walker Creek Ranch conference department and support summer groups by lifeguarding at our pond, helping in the dining hall, cleaning, and assisting the maintenance team.
Lifeguard* ($24.83/hour) supports the conference center and hospitality services by overseeing waterfront activities at our 4-acre pond. A current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate is required (additional open water certification and/or WFR a plus). Reimbursement for lifeguard recertification and/or training may be available. Summer orientation will take place on June 13th and lifeguard training for staff who would like to become lifeguards is scheduled for June 16-18th.
Conference Helper* ($21.45/hour) supports the conference center and hospitality services by setting up, cleaning and breaking down lodging and meeting rooms, supporting dining hall and kitchen during mealtimes, and working with conference guests. Summer orientation will take place on June 13th
*It is common to work in both capacities throughout the summer.
Room and board may be available for those interested in consistent summer employment.
