PROGRAM SUMMARY:
Since 1989, WOLF School has provided engaging and impactful educational outdoor experiences for California’s K-12th grade students.
We believe in the transformative power of outdoor experiences and are committed to designing immersive programs that connect youth with nature, empower individuals, and strengthen communities. Through lessons and activities that make learning fun, WOLF School gives students the chance to gain knowledge, awareness, and respect of their environment, their community, and themselves.

WOLF School’s programs are designed for K-12 students and serve youth from a range of cultural and socioeconomic background. Programs are delivered in a multi-day residential format. All WOLF School staff members are engaged in the development and implementation of a safe, educational, and inspiring program in outdoor education.
Web of Life Field (WOLF) School is the outdoor school component of United Camps, Conferences and Retreats (UCCR).
Location: The Program Director will be primarily stationed at our Monte Toyon program site in Aptos, CA, but may be called upon to work at our other two camps located in Pescadero and Livermore. WOLF School operates out of Santa Cruz, CA, with program sites in Santa Cruz, Pescadero, and Livermore, CA.
Work schedule: Residential program hours are from 8:00 am on the first day through 4:00 pm on the last day with a mid-day break and evening program hours until 10:00pm. Program sessions usually run Tuesday-Friday. The program director is required to stay on site overnight and is on-call.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program:
· Participate in the design and implementation of curriculum and program offerings
· Develop positive relationships between program staff, facility staff and participants
· During programs, be on call and be deployed at the direction of the WOLF school director
Supervision:
· Provide on site supervision to WOLF staff during programs
· Provide on site supervision, positive discipline and support to participants during program
· Provide on site supervision of WOLF health and safety program
Administration:
· Provide oversight of the assigned programs
· Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as requested
· Maintain program equipment and supplies
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education or work experience equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university
· Minimum of two years experience in environmental education program and curriculum design and implementation, or equivalent
· Be positive and enthusiastic when it comes to working with K-12 students in a hands-on learning environment
· Demonstrate responsibility, organization, flexibility, and sound judgment as it relates to the delivery of youth program activities in a team setting.
· Excellent leadership and communication skills
· Requires the ability and willingness to travel between sites based on the needs of the week.
· Ability to pass a TB test
· Hold or obtain current CPR and first aid certificate
· Pass a background check (including a criminal records check and National Registered Sex Offender check)
COMPENSATION:
Pay Rate: regular rate of $25.50 per hour, overtime rate of $38.25, after 8 hours of work each day.
An overnight stipend of $50 per night is also included.
