    Morro Coast Audubon Society seeks a full-time Program Manager to lead FEATHER (Fostering Environmental Awareness Through High School Education and Research), an innovative environmental education program serving high school students throughout San Luis Obispo County.

    The Program Manager will oversee all aspects of the FEATHER program, including educational programming, school and community partnerships, student engagement, volunteer coordination, grant implementation, compliance and reporting, program evaluation, and outreach. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards while working collaboratively with educators, conservation partners, volunteers, and community members.

    The successful candidate will be an organized and enthusiastic leader with experience in environmental education, youth programming, project management, and relationship building. Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills are essential.

    This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position based in San Luis Obispo County, California.

    Salary: $72,000–$79,000 annually, depending on experience.

    Qualifications include:

    • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, education, natural resources, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
    • Demonstrated experience in environmental education, youth programming, nonprofit or conservation program management, or a related field.
    • Experience building partnerships with schools, community organizations, volunteers, and diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, educators, and community partners.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout San Luis Obispo County.

    Position funding:
    This position is currently funded through March 1, 2029 under an existing grant. Continuation beyond that date is contingent upon continued funding.
