Description: Are you interested in understanding your audiences’ relationships with nature? Do you need to demonstrate to funders that your programs increase learners’ connection to nature? Join us for a 2-hour workshop diving into the Practitioner's Guide to Assessing Connection to Nature, a new guidebook for helping you measure this elusive concept with young children, teenagers, or adults. This interactive workshop will enable participants to become familiar with the Guide, explore the tools, and discuss which of the 11 assessment tools will be appropriate for their programs.

Facilitators: Bruce Young is the Affiliate Network Coordinator at North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE). Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Bruce is also an At-large Director for the Virginia Association for Environmental Education. Chis Parsons is based on Monterey California, and is the Principal/Owner and Manager of Word Craft, which specializes in interpreting and communicating science and environmental issues to the public. Chris has a strong background in evaluation, and has worked with countless clients over the years to develop evaluative approaches to inform, improve and innovate.
