WOLF School Naturalist Teacher Wanted!

WOLF Naturalist Teachers create an outdoor experience for their students through team building and exploration in the outdoors. Each Naturalist works with 15-18 students, grades K-12 (mostly 4th-6th) for 3-5 days each week (the majority of programs are 4 days long) at one of our three campuses. Our main campus is located near Santa Cruz, with others in Sonoma and just outside Yosemite. Naturalists have the opportunity to work at all of our campuses during our season.

Position is available now through June (with the possibility to apply for summer camp work) with the possibility to return in school year 2018-2019. Lead meals, evening activities, and all-day hikes. Provide supervision and first aid to students and participants as needed, including training and supervising parent and high school chaperones.

Bachelor's degree, first aid, and CPR certification required. 1-2 years relevant teaching experience or equivalent required.
Naturalists must be able to hike for several miles on rough terrain, carry up to 20 pounds, be able to work effectively as part of a team, and be able to communicate effectively and clearly with children, parents, teachers, and colleagues. Ability to implement and model excellent risk management and maintain a safe environment for participants. Must be able to work flexible hours, and able to adjust to changing sites, teacher expectations, and program goals. Travel and reliable vehicle required. Must enjoy teamwork, leading groups, performing at campfire programs, and interacting with children and their adult leaders, teachers, and parents.

Preferred skills include ability to speak and/or teach in a second language, experience working with English Language Learners, musical ability, experience with inquiry-based learning and thematic teaching, advanced degree or teaching credential. Compensation Information:
