    Are you passionate about fostering connection, empathy, and growth in the great outdoors? Westminster Woods invites you to join our team as a School Programs Coordinator, where your role goes beyond education – it's about cultivating a community of support and empowerment.

    Position Overview:

    As a School Programs Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in nurturing not just academic knowledge but also emotional well-being. Collaborate with the School Programs Manager to create a space where students feel seen, heard, and valued. Immerse yourself in the field, spending up to half of your time teaching and fostering meaningful connections.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Supportive Leadership:

      • Directly supervise a team of 3-5 Teacher Naturalists, offering guidance and encouragement.
      • Lead goal-setting processes and evaluations, focusing on personal and professional growth.
      • Support the hiring team in the TN hiring process, ensuring a diverse and inclusive team.
    2. Holistic Program Support:

      • Navigate daily program logistics while prioritizing the social-emotional aspects of student experiences.
      • Spend significant time in the field, creating spaces for open communication and connection.
      • Act as a substitute for sick or injured TNs, providing continuity and emotional support.
      • Purchase and maintain program supplies, fostering an environment of abundance.
    3. Emotional Intelligence and Program Development:

      • Cultivate staff development through empathetic team teaching and constructive evaluations.
      • Mentor TNs on teaching methodologies and emotional intelligence, emphasizing connection over content.
      • Contribute to curriculum development that addresses social-emotional learning.
      • Work with the SP Leadership Team on projects that promote a positive and inclusive program future.

    Position Expectations:

    • 5 years' experience as a field instructor in outdoor education—embrace the power of experiential learning.
    • Bachelor’s degree in education, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a focus on creating emotionally safe spaces.
    • Self-directed with the ability to balance field and office work, recognizing the importance of emotional well-being.
    • Excellent communication skills and diplomacy, fostering an environment of understanding.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Office Suite, using technology as a tool for connection.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Experience as an evening coordinator and Lead Teacher Naturalist, showcasing your commitment to holistic education.
    • Second language proficiency, promoting inclusivity and cultural awareness.
    • Prior experience in management or supervision, emphasizing support and growth.
    • Advanced degree or teaching credential, demonstrating dedication to continuous learning.
    • Experience leading training sessions and workshops focused on emotional intelligence and connection.

    Time Commitment:
