    Job Description

    • Lead lessons such as Jetty exploration, Solar Energy, Garden, teambuilding, archery, climbing tower, surfing, crafts, etc. for groups of 12-18 students 
    • Visit local school sites to deliver Outdoor Education programming.
    • Work 2-3 evenings a week, Lead about 3 meals per week
    • Help take care of our teaching and community garden, compost and other on-site facilities.  
    • Employ good teaching and leadership techniques in providing quality instruction
    • Ensure the safety and supervision of students and participants

    • USLA Ocean Lifeguard training and certification provided if applicant is interested in joining our lifeguard team.

    • YMCA Camp Surf-Imperial Beach, CA
    When
    • March 3 - May 23, 2025 (potential to start in January)
    Pay & Housing
    • Base pay rate is $96.74/day. Increases are given for relevant certifications and years of experience. 
    • Onsite housing is provided. Most staff share a room. Wifi provided in rooms and staff lounge. Laundry onsite. 
    • Meals are provided when programming is in session, and food & kitchenette in staff lounge is available 24/7
    • Full and part time positions available

    The successful candidates will likely have some, not all, of the following:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age or older and have obtained high school diploma or GED
    • Experience working with youth in Outdoor Education, Resident Camp, Day Camp or like setting preferred

    • Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
