The Executive Director of the Kings River Conservancy (KRC) works closely with KRC’s Board of Directors, providing direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Conservancy’s philosophy, vision, mission, strategy, goals and objectives. This position is responsible for developing an organization that understands, values, and supports diversity in its workforce and which utilizes that diversity as a path towards greater impacts in the communities KRC serves. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently to grow KRC from a grass roots level non-profit to a small to medium size 501(c)(3) enterprise within the first two years from hire.

Bachelor’s Degree or a degree of higher learning from an accredited college university or a combination of experience and education

Ten years of experience in nonprofit administration, preferably in a Director level position or higher

Record of commitment to diversity and advocacy for diverse and underserved communities, and proven experience working successfully to create an inclusive working environment

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated skills in budget, staff, and program management in a non-profit environment

Ability to effectively manage diverse programs and complex funding streams, including familiarity with the structure and management of federally and state-funded programs

Ability to inspire innovation and initiative within KRC staff, BOD, and community

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace

Access to reliable transportation, including carrying adequate auto insurance on personal vehicle as required by CA state law, and insurability by KRC carrier if utilizing KRC vehicle
