Job Location (Emigrant Gap, Placer County, CA)
Position details - Senior Naturalists provide and lead learning experiences for participants in the outdoor education program and with guest groups. Assist in developing class programs, develops curriculum, supports facilities, and exercises supervision over Sky Mountain classes and special programs. Provide leadership and direction for educational programming, mentor and lead apprentice naturalists. Does related work as required. Meals are included when the program is in operation. Full time contract at 218 days per year. Scheduled hours may be as early as 7:00 am or end as late as 9:30 pm. Senior Naturalists support a minimum of one night per week as the manager on duty for supporting students overnight. Must possess a bachelor's degree with a science/environmental or teaching/education related work background. Have experience with student-activity and curriculum development. Posses or being willing to obtain a valid food handlers certification. Posses or be willing to obtain a valid Wilderness First Responder certification.
Compensation - $27.14 - $32.98 per hour (classified hourly salary schedule, range 31), Fringe Benefits and Educational Degree stipends
